Answers to the most frequently asked questions about our organic Sicilian oranges.

1. Origin, quality, and certifications

Are all oranges organic?

In short: yes, all oranges we sell are 100% certified organic.

  • We cultivate according to organic farming regulations
  • No synthetic pesticides, no chemical herbicides
  • No post-harvest peel treatments
  • Annual controls by a certification body

Our oranges are organic certified and controlled annually by a third-party body. We do not apply wax or anti-mold treatments to the peel: the fruits are also intended for those who want to use zest and peel in cooking.

Are they grown by you?

In short: mainly our own production, with a small portion from selected organic growers.

Most of the oranges come from our citrus groves in Sicily. When demand exceeds availability, we collaborate with a few organic growers we know personally. Sicilian origin and quality standards remain the same.

Are the oranges PGI?

In short: yes, where indicated, the oranges fall within the PGI area.

When you find the PGI indication in the product sheets, it means that those fruits comply with the area, variety, and characteristics specifications established by the consortium, in addition to organic certification.

2. Product selection and size

Can I choose the size of the oranges?

In short: choose the box type, not the exact millimeter size.

  • Each box has a size range (mini, juicing, table, extra)
  • Homogeneous fruits within the same box
  • For special requests, write in the order notes
Juicing or table oranges?

In short: mainly changes in size and sometimes aesthetics.

  • Juicing: medium-sized fruits, possibly with some aesthetic defects
  • Table: larger and more aesthetically pleasing fruits
  • The pulp and taste remain excellent in both cases
Can I order a mixed box?

In short: you'll find mixed boxes already in the catalog, otherwise it's better to separate orders.

3. Shipping and delivery

When do you ship?

In short: we harvest on the weekend and ship at the beginning of the week.

  • We collect orders from Tuesday to Sunday
  • We harvest the fruits on the weekend, only by order
  • We ship on Monday and Tuesday
How many days until arrival?

In short: within 24–72 hours of shipping.

What happens if the order arrives damaged?

In short: photo of the damage and we'll refund or replace.

If you notice many damaged fruits, take clear photos and contact us with your order number. We will arrange a partial refund, discount voucher, or new shipment.

4. Peel, zest and culinary uses

Can I eat the peel?

In short: yes, the peel is edible, but it should always be washed well.

Organic citrus fruits, without post-harvest treatments. Peel suitable for zest, candied fruit, gratings, infusions. Always wash the fruits before use.

Can I use the zest for desserts and liqueurs?

In short: yes, it's one of the best uses for organic citrus fruits.

5. Home storage

How long do they last and how do I store them?

In short: in a cool, ventilated place, they last for weeks.

  • Store in a cool, dry, and airy place
  • Avoid hot rooms or near radiators
  • The fridge only if the house is very warm

6. Orange and citrus varieties

Difference between red and blonde?
  • Red (Tarocco, Moro): anthocyanins, intense and aromatic flavor
  • Blonde (Navel): blonde pulp, sweet and delicate flavor
  • Both rich in vitamin C and fiber
Do you only have oranges or other citrus fruits too?

Mainly oranges, but also other citrus fruits in season.
