Sicilian citrus fruits beyond oranges
Alongside oranges, Sicily offers a wide variety of citrus fruits. Here are the ones we grow organically and ship fresh, just picked:

- Mandarins and Clementines— sweet and easy to peel; these include the seedless Clementine Nova.
- Pink Grapefruit— pink pulp, juicy and fragrant, grown in the province of Siracusa.
- Bergamot— aromatic citrus fruit with a very fragrant peel, perfect for zests, herbal teas, desserts, and liqueurs.
- Cedars— with thick and fragrant peel, ideal for candied fruit, jams, and preserves.

Frequently asked questions about Sicilian citrus fruits
What Sicilian citrus fruits can I find besides oranges?
Lemons, mandarins, clementines, pink grapefruit, bergamot, cedars and special citrus fruits, all organic and grown in Francofonte (SR). Oranges are available in the dedicated Sicilian Oranges collection.
What is the difference between a mandarin and a clementine?
The mandarin has more seeds and an intense aroma; the clementine is a hybrid between mandarin and bitter orange, sweeter, almost always seedless and easier to peel.
Do lemons and cedars have edible peel?
Yes. Our lemons, cedars and bergamots are untreated on the surface: the peel is edible and ideal for zests, candied fruit, limoncello and infusions. We recommend washing them before use.
How is bergamot used?
Bergamot is mainly used for its aromatic peel — zests, teas, desserts and liqueurs — while the juice, tart and fragrant, is excellent in cooking and for drinks.
When is the season for lemons, mandarins and clementines?
Clementines and mandarins are harvested in autumn-winter (October-February), pink grapefruit from November to April, while lemons are available almost all year round.
How are Arancebio citrus fruits shipped?
Hand-picked to order and shipped within 48 hours throughout Italy by courier, directly from the producer, to guarantee freshness and quality.
