The fruit (pomegranate), Sicilian "Ranato" is a berry with a very hard and leathery skin with a diameter of 7 to 8 cm and with a size strongly conditioned by the variety and, above all, by the cultivation conditions. The fruit has several robust internal partitions that function as placentation for the seeds, called arils (up to 600 and more per fruit).

The seeds of this variety are surrounded by a translucent ruby red pulp, more or less acidic, and sweet and fragrant. The pomegranate fruit is particularly rich in mineral salts such as potassium, manganese, zinc, copper, and phosphorus. But that's not all! Iron, sodium, and calcium are also found within it. There is also an abundant presence of vitamins: A, B, C, E, and K. In addition to water, which naturally represents the main element, we find sugars, fibers, and fats.

This variety is particularly suitable for juices and extracts.
