Primosole Clementines

Among the first to ripen, Primosole is one of the early citrus fruits of the Sicilian citrus season. Obtained from the cross between mandarin and satsuma, it was selected at DOFATA-University of Catania in 1980.

The fruit, with an average weight of 150g, has a slightly papillated, thin skin. It is a generally seedless fruit with high juiciness. The pulp color is orange, and they have a pleasant and balanced taste.

Benefits and characteristics of Primosole

Our Sicilian Primosole is generally harvested from early October until the first days of November. Ripe fruits are harvested when the skin begins to turn from green to orange. The fruits are generally elliptical in shape, easy to peel, and can also be used to produce juices or jams. Generally seedless, however, some fruits may have 1-2 seeds.

Like all citrus fruits, it is also rich in vitamin C and A. Furthermore, they are rich in potassium and calcium and others. They strengthen the immune system and help maintain a balanced diet.
